Hey,

This has only started this morning but it does not do it all the time...

Sometimes when i brake the steering columb and handle bars will shake a bit, it only does this when i use the front brake.

Is this normal?

Cheers Thumbs Up Wink

maybe your headset is loose if you have them on scooters. try holding your front brake on and rocking the bike backwards and forwards and see if you have any movement. There should be none.

Got ABS?

I seen that on some modern ABS bikes hard braking can cause juddering due to the 'brake release brake release' of the ABS.

either your head bearings are loose or maybe your front disc is warped (if you have them/one) - presume you've check the pressure in the front tyre as well??

I think its brake related, have you had any knocks recently?

Your brake could be binding slightly on a warped disc, when your breaking the judder is from the disc warpage.

Get somebody to push down on the back when its on the stand to lift the front up, the wiggle the front wheel, if its moveing arorund side to side then it needs attention.

I'd say discs, have you changed the pads recently?

Definetly not ABS then.

Yeah check tyre pressures, flats can do all kinds of strange thing.

If you got a warped brake disc its an (expensive) pain but will need sorting.

I havent chacked my tyre pressure recently but ill test it tomorow.

Ive never had and knocks so i dont think its warped disks, its only done under 4000km as well.

Ill test the headstock bearings tomorow as well.

Cheers

Might just be a flat spot that your only noticing when lowering the revs by braking... unlikely but possible. Bike would start to vibrate alot more and generally feel uncomfortable.

But then again when you say juddering... sounds too violent to be a flat spot.

Classic warped disc, juddering under braking. If you had headstock trouble the handling would be off too, feeling very loose and floppy if they are loose, and feeling notchy and not wanting to change direction at low speed if they are worn.

Would be unlikely for headstock bearings to wear out in 4k, quite easy to warp a brake disc in that time though, particularly with an auto.

Nope not at all mate!
All speedfights do it. Because of the inverted front suspension system when the front brake us being used, the front end likes to shake unles the back brake is equil or more on than the front...

Ive had it on all 3 of my speedfights, Its nothing to worry about mate...

Just use your back brake a bit more than the front...
