I have picked up my first bike! I'm in love!

Picked up my first bike after passing my DAS 3 weeks ago and I'm in love! Smile

I've never ridden anything other than the ER6N i rode for 4 days during DAS and test and the random 125 i rode for a day during my CBT. It's a full on mid life crisis so i had my eye on a ZX6R, CBR600RR or GSX-R 600. However, they were all a bit more money than I wanted to spend so i compromised and went for a CBR600F. Mine is a 04 with 9700 miles on it and it's in mint condition apart from a small dent in the exhaust can.

Well, all i can say is THANK GOD. It does not feel like i compromised at all. The bike has loads of power, looks gorgeous and makes a fantastic noise. I couldn't have asked for anything more. To top it all it's very comfy too. I rode her home riding on a motorway for the first time and riding in the dark for the first time. I had no mishaps and now I can't stop grinning. I even filtered and that was much easier than I thought. I did have to focus on not becoming complacent and staying observant and alert as I was enjoying myself so much.

He did move on price. I have to say, he was one of the most genuine and decent people I have ever met! He was genuinely concerned about my safety and gave me lots of advice. He threw in a net for the back as he thought I might find my backpack distracting. He also gave me a handful of earplugs from his stash and explained tintanitis to me, something I had not thought about. A proper honest decent guy.

Anyway here are a couple of pics. Second one shows the baglux tank cover he included in the sale.

Got lots to learn about basic maintenance and upkeep. I will research on google and YouTube before asking.

I'd go as far as to say that the CBR6 was one of the best bikes I owned. It's not superb at any one thing but very competent at most. It does inspire confidence but at times I felt that the bike would perform better if I wasn't involved.
