I got terrible mileage out of the last tank of fuel on my Triumph.
Turns out that constant smell of petrol in the garage wasn't the little generator which had previously suffered from a leak, it was the tank connectors on the bike!
Admittedly it's a well known issue on my bike, likewise if there are well known issues on your bike start there (but maybe check the fuel lines too ).
I'll also second getting an ebay voltmeter. Then again I got mine because I want to run heated clothing and replaced the reg/rec regardless - on the triumph it often kills the stator when it goes so I just thought, fck it. |

Other than a leak, most other things that will effect economy that much would throw a code.
Another thing to look at, I believe the IAT and the MAP sensor have the same plug and can be accidentally swapped over, which wouldn't do anything good to the bikes fuelling.
Does the bike feel down on power at any point in the rev range?
Are you sure you're running stock gearing? ____________________ Current Bikes:Honda 929RR Fireblade, Honda CD200 Benly (Project), Stomp Z2 140
