Just wondering,

when I push/drive the bike forward I can hear a slight creaking metal noise coming from my chain and rear sprocket and am wondering what it could be, I think my chain is dry as I have not lubed it in a while but it is not totally dry, I gave it a clean with WD-40 and it went away for about a day, also if I roll it backwards it is silent as it should be...

so do I need a good lubin'?

You have a dry chain.
You hear a squeak from the chain.
...
..
.
?

Could be pads > disc.
Could be bearings.

Wouldn't call it a squeak, more like a crackling metallic sound, creaking etc.. it eventually goes away after 3rd gear, but yeah I do think its too dry, will get hold of some lubricant soon

Use chain Lub not WD40
WD40 is not good for ordinary chains and kills O ring chains
You have a dry chain and possible a worn out one and worn out sprockets

Installed new chain, front sprocket and rear about a month ago they're all great condition, so that's why I presumed it could be dry which I'm guessing it is

Lube up as often as you can in this weather, also wash your bike down as often as you can to keep the salt off, You may want to keep an eye on your brake callipers too.

Lube the chain when it needs it. If the chain is dry it needs lube. Do not use WD40. Use proper chain lube from a decent manufacturer. I use Castrol Chain Wax personally. Some people swear by Wurth chain lube.

In the old days I used to use Yoshimoto 'kin good but I don't think they make that any more.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Also not a particularily great idea.

Make sure the bike is left running, that you don't directly spray any wiring connectors and that you stop if the bikes idle changes even slightly. Also avoid getting anything down the exhaust.

You've got a chinese bike from memory, the connectors and waterproofing on the electrics wasn't great from the factory and prone to failiure under light rain....how do you suppose it'll react to highly pressurised water being blasted at it? Laughing

Bucket & sponge, parrafin & toothbrush to clean the chain (or better yet, chain cleaner)

Chinese bikes need constantly washing to prevent them turning into rust infront of your eyes. Putting it off is likely to see you without a useable bike very quickly, as is skimping on basic stuff like lubricating chains etc. You probbably should consider using ACF50 coming into winter too.

Basicly, once a week this;

Ah cool, the more I know the better, I'll give that a watch in a bit.
