Well, The Express & The Mail forecast the coldest December.....

And well hmm, today I had to take my neck warmer off, it was simply too warm. Even last night, my heating hadn't come on, why, because it was 10C outside.

I'm not saying the weather is great, it's raining at the moment, but it's soo mild for this time of year.

It has been very mild lately, comparatively speaking.

Doom and gloom forecasters had predicted the worst snow in living memory only a few weeks ago.

The forecasters (guessers) are doing well this year, about a month ago down in cornwall we was supposed to have the tail end of a hurricane or something hit us for a week turned out to be quite nice and dry for that week instead of trees blown down and roofs blown off. Given up listening to them now, just look out the window in the morning.

Does seem particularly calm so far this winter - not even been much rain in the south west Confused

Suppose that will mean January will bring armageddon or something..

We had a decent summer, mostly very mild autumn and now December is more like spring. I bet those people who put their bikes away in storage two months ago are wishing they hadn't Laughing

Extremely rare to get consistent mildness in December like we've been having. Not even been needing my thermal inner gloves, far less muffs.

Last year was the same though, it was pretty mild up until the middle of January and everybody was writing the predicted cold winter off, Then it was freezing for the rest of January, February, March and most of April.

I wouldn't fret too much about the lack of bitter.

I am certain it's just around the corner and will be well able to shove a few icicles up one's pooper.

I reckon people expect the cold weather too soon, thanks to the general hype of Decemeber = christmas = snow etc.

Winter doesn't actually start until December 21st, and it then continues until March 21st. Hence it's usually far colder between January and February! Thumbs Up

You believe weather forecasts? They can't even accurately predict 6 hours ahead.

Please tell me you don't read the horoscopes too?

Only got caught out by the weather once this summer - I use the BBC Weather website all the time. Headed out to Squires one night with Fifteen15 and we got absolutely satched. I looked up at the sky before and should've taken a cue from that - it looked evil, and was obviously going to slash it down within an hour or two. Instead though I went back upstairs and checked the BBC - said it wouldn't kick off 'til midnight. Rolling Eyes

But almost every other time they've got it correct for 24-48 hours. Having said that, the storm that knocked the village's electricity out for 36 hours last week went largely unpredicted iirc.

Some Seaweed and a Barometer araldite-ed to the fuel tank and weather is contained.

You need to go faster. Very Happy

Problem is with my gear during the town part of my journey I am sweating like a paedophile in a playground, but I have to have it all on, because once I get to the motorway I start shivering after 10 minutes if I forget something.

It's all damned scaremongering to sell more copy. Thanks to the bullshit about the supposed hurricane I missed out on seeing Alexei Sayle at the old SU. Pricks.

I suspect far worse is yet to come, it's far too early to write winter off!

I tend not to pay too much attention to weather forecasts. Especially when you consider that they spend the first half of the programme telling you what the weather was like earlier today. I know what it was like, I was there when it happened!

Damn right.

I remember when the weather outside hit 8 degrees last year... it was a cause for celebration... if felt so fucking warm compared to how it had been.

It's about 8 degrees outside now. The bad weather hasn't even started yet.

Cronk y Voddy (Isle of Man) March 3013.

It was quite a strange experience to ride through there, as well as a bloody cold one. Similar to riding through a gigantic freezer.

As others have said. I pay little attention to what the latest weather bimbo predicts on the TV and just look out the window in the morning.

Nice picture but useless without a lap time mate.

What is it with The Express and their phony front page extreme weather condition headlines? Confused Last year, they had 111 of them and only 20% were anywhere near the real conditions. I can understand their old age drug headlines as they make money from the drug companies but what the hell do they get out of false freak weather warning headlines? Confused

Folk with not much to say talk about the weather.

I work on traffic lights and I've only been working in a hi-vis t-shirt. February and March I'm guessing will be the worst.
