 |
|
It's nearly the end of the year. I wonder what are everybody's motorcycling plans for 2014. I'm talking about plans, not dreams Any new bike purchase? Track days? Travel? Project? Something else?
I still kinda feel the financial burden caused by my 2nd child born earlier this year and there was no way to save money really. I paid quite a bit to improve bits and bobs in my current bike. So my plans are very modest:
-I will be keeping ZX-6R J2 as a road and track bike for another year, no bike purchase expected.
-I'd like to do about 10 track days.
-If money allows I'd like to ride to Spain.
What are yours? ____________________ Current Bike: Yamaha XSR900 Previous bikes: Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade, Kawasaki ZX-6R Ninja, Aprilia RS125 2-stroke |

Planning my first Europe tour - finally got to the top of my "must-do" list. I have ridden in Europe before, but didn't make the most of my time there.
Planning a couple of major mods to the bike (FZS1000) - R1 USD fork conversion and R6 rear shock.
That's it as far as planned stuff goes. Quite achievable targets for my limited finances. Plus, ride, ride, ride! |

Sort the fuelling.
Ride more.
More camping trips/BBQ sessions/chip trips to the coast.
If not complete, make some progress on the bike computer project.
If I don't sell it and get something else ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.

Get the VFR painted black. Get a high level exhaust mid-section bent up for the VFR. Get the Enfield painted white. Go to the Dragon rally. Make a trailer for the Enfield. Go to a European rally, either Crimmitschau Ratbikes or the Dutch Hardly Rideables.
Go to France again for a holiday, take the bike in the back of the van. Return home stacked to the roof with wine, and a French autocycle. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

I'll be keeping the NC700 but will start to look at some candidates for my next bike at the end of the year, when I'm hoping to finally get to the motorcycle show in Birmingham. I'm not planning on actually buying a new bike until 2015, though.
Will be taking some training in April on "machine control" and hoping to start RoSPA training.
I'm taking the Mrs. to Scotland later in the spring (mid to late-May-ish) for a much-delayed 25th wedding anniversary trip. (It was delayed from this year because of the birth of a grandchild.) We're looking at basing ourselves around Glencoe for a few nights, explore the area, then on to Skye for a night or two.
I will be spending my normal two weeks in the south east of Ireland in August, but will bring the motorcycle this time.
Oh, and not die. But that goes without saying. ____________________ Current: '14 VFR800X Test passed 31/10/12.

Try and hit 40k on the Sinnis. Currently shows no signs of slowing at 20k, was told long ago your average 125 lasts 25k and either crashes or breaks about then. I don't see anything major breaking on it any time soon. Though I do need to stop ragging it on so many motorways. Also need to slow down when I see a speed bump and not accelerate over them. Definatley need to stop taking it up green lanes as well, its not a bike designed for that. Hmmm....
Eh... I would settle for 30k.... |
