 |
|
Seems my visor on my HJC has broken (might be the mount on the helmet)
To try and avoid riding part of the 20 miles home open faced, anyone know of a bike gear shop not too far from Trafford park (I made it to work)?
I'm presuming HG Manchester to have shut since most others appear to have done
I would go with the plan of army surplus goggles however I have to wear glasses. ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

When I open the visor the lugs on it twist in the mount instead of the mount rotating causing the visor to pop out.
The plastic of the mount has got a bit chewed by it happening which allows it to pop out.
There is a screw in the centre of the pivot so could put a longer screw through the visor and mount instead
Think I've caused it by pushing it fully open quickly when its steamed up ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

Thanks for the offer Dan,
I made it home due to there being no traffic when I left
If the visor is down it stays in, it's when opening there is a risk of it popping out.
As I wasn't queuing or filtering I was able to just put the visor down and make sure it was still in place before setting off and just not open it until I got home!
Stinkwheel,
As in my op, I'd just wear ski goggles or something if I didn't have to wear glasses. ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

Personally i'd have just whacked a few zipties round the chin bar to hold it a click open then taped the visor on with gaffa. Most workplaces will have gaffa tape & cable ties ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.
