Hey guys

Please tell me im not just being silly.

Im going to look at a bike next weekend its a wee bit away (~200miles from home) and if i buy it I was thinking in just shoving it in my car for the drive home.

Anyone done this before? I mean its a small car (Nissan Micra) I can remove the front passenger seat and put the back seats down which gives a ton of room and the bike is just a little commuter 125 (cheap chinese shineray chow mein). So in theory with the wheels off it will easily fit. So yeah... has anyone tried this before who can advise on how to wedge it in?

If you take the wheels off you should be okay but I'd brace it and tie it down a bit.

If you have a crash or get rear ended by a tit in a Range Rover you don't want your head disintegrating.

what bike is it and what car is it? are you bothered about the inside of the car getting a bit scratched / dented etc?

i borrowed my mums honda civic to get a pit bike i bought home and the pitbike *just* about squeezed in behind the front seats altho i had to push the door shut quite hard to get it to close as the tyres were pushing against the doors.

the pit bike is tiny thing but when i went to get it into the car it suddenly seemed to multiply in size every direction lol

I sold a CG 125 to a cabbie (London Taxi style cab) and he shoved it in the back and drove off with it. Thumbs Up

Hire a tranny, Northgate Hire £45 for the day. Unlimited mileage.

Why struggle?

Tie Down straps £20 ea B&Q.

I did that for two bikes two months ago.

The getting the GPZ in the corsa was a struggle but as it was the middle of summer we had good fun doing it. Not sure I'd bother again though.

If I ever find a cheap broken YBR that'll go in the back of the Fiesta though...much less of a challenge.
