I went out last christmas though and it was brilliant, mainly because of empty roads. Saw 3 bikes in 4 hours though, doesn't seem to be a popular day for biking Thumbs Down

Whacked a bit of tinsel over the bike, tied a santa hat to my helmet and off I went Whistle

Working this year, and bikes on SORN, so thats the end of that plan Rolling Eyes

Must admit it did result in a lot of hassle. Had tied some to the screen, which subsequently blew loose and began violently whipping me at speed. So ended up tearing off a fair bit of it and discarding it along the way Laughing , but the stuff on the sides and tail survived.

I would of liked to try tree-lights tied to the battery but with my electrical knowledge it would of probably caused a fire Whistle

Always go out for a spin on Xmas Day. Though in recent years it's not been as deserted as it used to be.

One year I went down to Broadstairs and there were some attractive nubiles (and some fat middle aged blokes, admittedly) swimming in the sea in their skimpies. Bit of a custom, apparently.

Years ago folks on here used to organise a ride-out on Xmas day. Annabella and her bloke (Suzuki?) and others whose membership numbers were barely into double digits.

Anyone remember the good/bad old days in Kent/elsewhere in the late 80s/early 90s when you were virtually certain to get pulled by the various plod forced out to clamp down on the drunk drivers/riders blighting England's green and pleasant land if you were out on Xmas Day or NYD?

But surely any normal bloke would be at home with his family at this time of year, not out riding a motorbike. Etc. After the Chief Constable's son was nicked for being off his face on something or other, this practice quickly died out.

My mate at college has somehow bodged up some christmas lights round his helmet, he fitted a plug in the middle and a switch, then it's plugged into his batttery, so turn it off and then unplug it to take the helmet off.

I shall be riding If I can get the bike put back together in time, all my bits turned up today and and I should have it running by the 24th, If all goes smoothly.

I sellotaped a santa hat to my helmet and put a santa costume over my gear last year and rode around the city for a bit.

Considering riding around like that but with a backpack this year, and throwing/giving presents to random pedestrians. If any are out. Who knows, it might make someone's day if they're depressed and wandering Plymouth alone on Christmas day.

This time though I will keep the beard on. Even though it gets sodden with snot.

Could be a good day for getting a tug from a pissed off black rat, who's drawn the short straw and got rostered on.

Loud pipes/small plates can be talked out of, the residue of Xmas Eve's skinfull less so Confused

This has got to be a singley thread! Like, do you married folks get any fuckin choice? Married with kids? You're staying in then, that's what you do, and if you've got young kids, that's what you should be doing. Us sad singley bastards on the other hand are just looking for an excuse to stay away from the crap that's regurgitated on the telly year after year. What am I having for Xmas dinner? Chinese. Apparently. Christ, I hope the weather's good so I can get the fuck out on the bike. Roll on next summer. Smile
