I own an Aprillia RS125 and when I turn the bike on it stays dead. No neutral light, no clock comes up - nothing! Yet I can still manage to bumpstart it and it runs fine? Suggestions please?

Well, it will be something to do with the battery but I replaced the battery not so long ago. My friend looked at it and said all the eletrical components were fine (IE alternator etc) so I just wanted other peoples opinions on what they'd look at.

Did you actually charge it, though?

Why did you replace the battery in the first place?

Is the charging system OK?

Are the connections from battery to bike electrics and back all clean and secure?

Is the battery still usable or sulphated to fcuk?

Fuse? Not sure if these bikes will run without the battery - am guessing they do.

Get it running then use a multimeter to see what voltage the battery is getting... You're looking for around 13.7-14.5v

Sounds more like a fuse has gone.

A 2stroke will still run without the battery.

Check the voltage in the battery. If its around 12v then look at the main fuse.

Main fuse or battery connections or earth. Time for a multimeter, and if you put your location in your profile, you may find someone local who can come and kick your tyres and offer sympathy.
