Hi

Done a search which turned up nothing....

Whilst getting a new bulb for the car this morning from central auto supplies i inquired if they had a H7 night breakers for my bike and how much whilst i was there..

The latest rendition is the night breaker ultimate usual claims 110% brighter and 30+m etc etc.

Now to my question are these bulbs that much better than their standard brethren ? and justification of 18 quid for 2 bulbs ??

Of course i purchased them as ill buy into anything gimmicky but haven't had chance to try them out..

cheers

No idea on bikes but I've always found them to be much better than standard cheap bulbs in the car.

Could very easily be placebo effect but I've always been happy with night breakers or similar.

Is there any real benefit in going for the motorcycle specific versions (e.g. Osram Night Racer Plus or Philips X-treme Vision Moto)?

The manufacturers say they are more vibration resistant, but does this give a significantly different life compared to the cheaper car variants?

After doing some research the night breakers unlimited are listed for bikes and cars and are supposed to have 50% more life in them...

I put some in my ER6-F, mine came in a little Helmet thing, it actually shows on the outer that the life as reduced, but everything else better. I have had to replace one in the 9 months since I put them in.

Still pretty good though, as the ER6's single light configuration isn't the best.

Thanks. I'm just looking at sorting out a pack of bulbs to leave on the bike rather than have to find a garage that happens to have the right type when the headlamp bulb dies (which is bound to be at 11pm on a rainy Sunday in the middle of nowhere).

An appreciable difference in life for roughly equivalent brightness would be worth having for the minimal difference in cost, but it sounds like they are similar.
