I think I'm running the Zed on GoldFren's at the moment. Used them before on various, too, and don't recall any faeces.
(In fact the only set of pads I've ever had problems with were EBC and they'd been well and truly used/abused when one of the pads let go off it's steel back.) ____________________ Make mine a Corona. |

If you don't ride hard or expect to have to stop quickly GoldFren are very cheap
If a car pulls out on you and you cannot stop because you have cheap pads fitted it was a poor gamble
If you want decent brakes buy good pads OEM EBC Brembo etc
On more powerful / Heavy bikes and for hard riding use fully sintered hard on the disks but you stop
Avoid GoldFren Keyo etc

I'm a Goldfren/Kyoto pads guy, they are cheap and they last long enough.
If braking was my primary concern, I'd probably fork out, the brakes on my TTR were Brembo with matching pads and they were good for stoppies. |

EBC look to be a decent balance between price (half of the OEM cost) and quality, now I just have to pop the old pads out and give 'em a measure.

The front pads on my R1 are still the originals after 25,000 miles and there is still a significant amount of friction material left.I have some Ferodo sintered ready to go in as and when required.
I have been using Ferodo pads for years now with good feel and hot/cold/wet stopping power and have a general distrust of EBC shoes and pads after a bad experience of both. There are some Gold Fren pads in my KTM spares box but I am not sure if I will bother with them after reading some hit/miss situations with people using them.
I have heard good things about Carbon Lorraine and SBS pads.
Vesrah pads I would not use even if they were free ____________________ Just talk bikes. What else is there?

SBS, Ferodo SinterGrip, Bendix.
All are good.
I dislike EBC pads, had the pad material separate from the backing plate on more than one set.
Goldfren are 'ok' for the money. ____________________ Suzuki GT250 x7------- Fazer 600------CB250RS------Aprilia Rally 70----- Bandit 600
