Fairly urgent - YZF600 Tcat dead battery?

J.M. is on his was down, now currently sitting by the side of the M25 with a flat battery, ridden from Birmingham so looks to have drained over a 100-120 miles.

Has bump started and got from Staines to near Reigate and its now died again. Won't start at all. Assuming battery first, so will get that looked into, any other common issues? Maybe regulator, have some regulators here but wondered if there were any common faults with these?

just the live feed (multi block) out from the reg./rect. over heats, melts a bit & corrodes so the contact breaks.. Thinking

I came all the way from Birmingham and my battery cut out at Staines-upon-Thames on this map:

Getting from the outside lane to the hard shoulder of the motorway isn't fun with no power.

I had some tools with me, so I took the tank off and checked all the connections from the stator to the reg/rec and to the wiring loom. They all looked healthy from a visual inspection. The positive terminal on the battery seemed a little loose, so I tightened that and bump started the bike.

Seemed to be going okay. There wasn't enough power to use my main beam or indicators, but it got me 20 miles down the road (as marked on that map). At which point the bike died again with no power.

I'll get a multimeter on it now that I've arrived and see what's going on with the electrickery.

I recently broke down at the side of the motorway albeit on a zzr6

I found the wires from the stator had melted through the insulation and were shorting before the reg rec, youve said youve checked but it might be helpful for me to at least mention it

Must be something in the air...my bike wouldn't turn over when I left the shop yesterday, had to get a car-washer to give us a push. Embarassed

To be fair, the battery has had a hard time the last year as I've been away one week out of two so the bike hasn't been used much...and when it has, it's only been short blasts out into the countryside. Probably about time I charged it.
