Pretty much the same as everywhere else, not an expensive place to go, unless you head for a posh nosh venue.
Beer is cheaper than here and plenty of decent choice.
In and around Grand-place is a decent place to start your quest. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? I've not had a wander around there since October maybe since every time I go through Brussels it's been raining since. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? There is a lot in brussels for a tourist on the lash, might be a bit on the expensive side for accommodation within walking distance.
I'd go for a town elsewhere, traffic is usually bad in brussels, the roads are not that great,
Another 100 miles would put you in Germany, better roads and somewhere like Cologne will offer as much on the beer front for similar money but also cheaper digs. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? Amsterdam is expensive as well, parking charges are obscene and rooms expensive.
How about a shocker?
Paris?
Lots there, F1's within reach on foot or via the metro and only expensive if you go to that sort of place.
3 hours from Calais, 175 miles ish. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? Hi
There are a few F1 hotels around (I used the one in Diegem a few times), but there are a few other hotels in the same areas.
Taxis for a group might not be bad, but the taxi fares go up (double I think) outside the city limits. The Diegem F1 is about half a mile beyond the city limits (Nato HQ is pretty much on the city limit).
Brussels tends to be quiet at the weekend compared to the week.
If you want something non drinking to do, the military museum (at Parc du Cinquantenaire) is worth a look.
All the best

That is the thing, you can easily spend that on a beer but you don't have to.
I was out there not long ago and dumped the bike locked to some railings, wandered along and got a pizza and a beer for a tenner. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? Yeah, it's pretty dull. It's the Basingstoke of Europe. ____________________ FZR400 (blown engine), ZXR750 (blown engine), ZX6R (accident), CBR600 which had engine issues after which I learned to change gear..., CBR900, CBR924 (stolen), CB600, CB1300 (everything blew up), BMW K1300GT (written off, hit from rear while stationary), Bandit 1250 for a couple of months, Triumph Sprint ST 1050 (nicked) and somewhere in there, I wrote off a Ducati 748 at Cadwell. |
