actually doesn't look too bad for the money, you still see ads asking £1800 for these things, laughable!

ZX6R prices are hugely variable, for £2500 you can buy anything from an overpriced J or A1P to a C1H

"Oil change 3 days ago", cynical side of me would double check the sump plug for any damage/leakage.

My friend got a 97 with 30k Miles for 650. Great deal from Margate. The seller's wife didn't want him on the bike mind you. He was a paramedic and barely rode it.

Deals to be had but as the weather gets better, you may see the price go up. Still a good month or two though.

Looks alright, but I'd probably keep looking for a J model that is probably £100 more expensive.

The cynic inside me wonders why you would bother if your selling anyway Laughing

Doesn't look too bad, never ceases to amaze me how people take so little effort in 1, preparing their bike for sale and 2, formulating a decent advert.

The guy could have given the wheels a good scrub and given the bike a bit of spit and polish. Because of this I'd be worried what condition the brakes are in as those 6 pot tokio need lots of tlc. Have the chain and sprockets seen better days ect.

The fact that the advert states a bit of work has been carried out on the bike is a good thing. I'd ask if the valve clearance has ever been done, as this is a big job (expensive at a garage) and causes bad running, stalling ect.

For the money though it doesn't seem too bad, I'd try and get a couple of hundred knocked off if you like it when you see it.

I've just sold my G2 which was in v good condition, all original paint ect, very few imperfections.
All old mot's (23000 on clock) and lots of invoices for work done inclucing £350 I spent on a valve service. Brakes and forks recently reconditioned.
I got £1550 for mine so that's a reference point.

Thumbs Up

being picky, tailpiece has been re-sprayed, decals aren't standard, comedy exhaust. As others have said - covered in road shite. If he can't be arsed to even clean it to sell it then what do you reckon that says about how it's been cared for?

fwiw I sold my G2 for £1100 a couple of years ago. 30k New chain/sprocks, front discs/pads, near perfect condition.

I'd look around, there's lots of these about. Great bikes btw

Is a valve service an engine out job on one of these?

If I buy something in this price/age region I'm going to do ll the servicing myself. So I'm thinking of getting an old engine just to practice stripping one down and rebuilding it.

Not bad, but personally I would go for at least J1 model.. and for a bit more preferably A1P.

I'm sceptical about those brakes working well with only pads changed Wink

on second thoughts I really would recommend a 636, any model

the A1P is probably the most comfortable/upright position

the B series are bonkers and IMO better handling than

the C series, the fastest of the lot but arguably the ugly duck
