And which of the replies above are based on any sort of objective information about the locks?
Mammoth might be cheap shit with a big markup, but are Squire and Abloy better?
Squire lock picked in seconds.
Abloy lock picked in seconds.
More likely to be smashed or have the shackle cropped, I'd imagine. How well do any of them stand up to that? Seen any evidence? ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Doesn't really matter what the lock is if the chain is only 12mm. All online products I saw for Mammoth locks are with a 12mm (sometimes 10mm) chain.

On a 19mm chain, the Squire's shackle can't be cropped because it's closed shackle and the only visible bit of the shackle is physically inside the chain loop.
On a 16mm chain, the Squire's shackle would still be very hard to crop because the closed shackle guard bits leave you very little to grip on.
I've never had an Abloy but I imagine it's the same, so long as you get a closed shackle.
Quickest and cheapest way would probably be a decent sledgehammer and enough slack in the chain etc. to get a swing at it (the chain might give before the lock); after that, a hydraulic cutter or an angle grinder, which should make short work of any chain.
But a 12mm chain is going to be cut by a simple bolt cropper without much difficulty. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4
