This times eleventy.
On the coldest winter days. (we had 2oC here last week) I wore my summer gloves with an inner liner glove and my hands never got cold.
Muffs lose manpoints but I'd rather donate man points and have fingers I can use than keep my man points and lose the use of my fingers from cold knuckle syndrome. ____________________ illuminateTHEmind wrote: I am just more evolved than most of you guys... this allows me to pick of things quickly which would have normally taken the common man years to master

They do help, I've run them on a couple of bikes. On the 125, I used big, simple ones like these:

Which worked better than the curvier "brush guard" wrap-arounds that I ran on the GS over the summer.
However, none of them are a substitute for muffs. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I'd consider some reinforced wrap around gaurds. Even a cheap set is going to be more useful in the invent of a spill in saving your levers (although you may of course increase any bar/tank damage). I spent £30 on a set. Then get some muffs to pop over the top.
The plastic bar only mount ones are utter shite and pointless. ____________________ Chase my Witch up, Catch my Snitch up.

These made a world of difference in the hour ride to uni/home through winter.
Cost nothing (2 milk bottles and 6 zip ties) and again, WORLD of difference.
That being said, they did cover my hands far more extensively than other basic guards but the lack of win chill means you're hands stay warm (never bothered with heated grips either")
