Don't you just hate it when you get lectured by a rider who thinks they know it all? In this thread I will attempt to challenge this.

It happened the other day. A rider on a 125 came hurtling around a corner at 50-60mph, almost taking me out. I turned around and caught up with him at the next set of traffic lights. By this point I had cooled down enough to have a normal conversation with him. As I pulled alongside, he was faffing about with a set of handlebar muffs.

He mentioned he did 40,000 miles a year, which certifies him to take corners at either the speed he did just before, or at a slower 30mph. 90 degree corners he didn't mention, but the biker community knows that when we involve degrees into conversations things get technical, so I'll leave it there. My anger from what happened before vanished. I was astounded by this guys skill, when he then mentions he could have taken it even faster! I asked how? By hanging off the bike. Unreal. Man I was getting jealous by this point.

But then it went downhill. He began whining about how no one agreed that his Honda CBF125 was the best handling bike ever. Whilst I think it's a fantastic little bike (minus the rust), there were far better bikes out there. When I quizzed him about his previous experience, I got shot down because his list was extensive. A few 125's, even a 500cc!

By this point, the lights turned green. Dumfounded by this random guys knowledge, I had to push my motorbike off the road and have a lie down. I saw him ride into the distance, correcting riders as he went. I couldn't move for hours. Finally, I stood up and wrote a book about the experience.

It never sold.

How I come across. Not how I actually ride. You've just taken everything I have said and made it out to be completely wrong. As if you've done everything right?

Like If I say I was overtaking someone and a car pulls out on me. I was in the for overtaking in the first place but then if I don't over take I'm a pussy.

im crap ill be the first to admit. but i wont post several times a day checking what i did.

and on a 125, id be more cautious when overtaking. or if i felt people might call me a pussy for not overtaking then id never announce it on a public forum and then turn arsy because were called a pussy.

I'd expect better from people that are suppose to be adults especially as they've said I'm dangerous already and now saying I'm a pussy for not doing a potentially dangerous maneuver.

Doing 26,000 miles since the 13th of Jan must have been a struggle though.

Nice find.

Now Mike. Turn off your computer, go to bed and get a good nights sleep, before that hole you're digging gets any deeper.

I'm having a laugh, but if I have to be the one to say this I will. You have to take BCF less seriously. We are adults, have a wealth of experience and surprisingly not a complete bunch of dicks. If you post numerous topics, then disregard advice and take things far too personally, then people will start taking the mick.

All I can suggest is to step back, read everything again, chill out and stop being so defensive. Things you say, for example "everyone hates L platers", got me annoyed. It's such a large statement that's completely untrue, and you say it as if it's a total fact.

You are still at the start of your motorcycling career so to speak. You do not know everything. The same way I know nothing. There's so much to learn, and this forum has the people with that experience and are more than willing to help you. People on here do far higher mileages, travel across the world, everything.

As regards to your Facebook, I noticed it's exactly the same username as your BCF profile. Try mixing it up so it's harder to find.

FWIW, I don't particularly doubt the mileage, because invention requires imagination, and a mind whose reach exceeds its grasp.

Because I like to believe the best of people, I do hope this is a long troll played to perfection.

If you're going to last here long - which is looking dubious - accept a bit of light hearted abuse. People generally come on here for entertainment of some form, if you're the current source of entertainment you're going to get a bit butthurt temporarily. Get on with it and take it on the chin.

Surprisingly everyone else agreed with the poster and rated it funny but if the guy did that to another member of the forum he was a complete asshole and would get his post rated flame.
I wouldn't be so sure - people can take a joke generally - theres debates, disagreements and arguements regularly.

even the mods didn't really give much of a shit as inexperienced L plate riders aren't important and would get them selves killed on a bike anyway.
Reread your threads - the few mods that are on here have replied to quite a few of your comments, with useful advice and without saying anything negative or rude. As someone mentioned in a previous thread - treat it like walking into a new pub - if you run around the tables talking too much to everyone off the mark, you're going to have a hard time. Take a bit of time and try get involved rather than starting every single thread Razz
