A quick shake of the head to show displeasure and its forgotten, I like it.
It was close but fair play for not whining like a cyclist about it. |

Riding in the gutter probably didn't help. ____________________ m0l0t0v wrote: Chris, just so you know, JD is a nutter

If I rode closer to the right, I'd hit a kid coming out from between cars.
The danger on the left didn't happen until approaching the junction, at which point I moved to a central position.
That gave me enough time to dodge the car whole even though he came right out.
Riding closer to the center line would have been the wrong thing to do as a rule. It may have helped this specific scenario, but as a rule it would be more dangerous.
For example, I normally ride this road on the right hand side when coming up the other way. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4

Ste, there is literally not a single correct statement in your post. I don't think you even ride.
FWIW this road has turnoffs to the right that act as shortcuts used by pedestrians ands cyclists, they pop out from between the cars regularly. The road also has a right hand bend in it. You have to ride right in the left gutter to see through the bend. Meanwhile the junction the car comes out of has good visibility so you can see what's coming - and they can see you, normally - so it's a very poor choice of line to ride anywhere else.
I did come out to the middle of the road when I got as far as the junction. The car wasn't that difficult to dodge.
This road is 30 seconds from my house. I've ridden it perhaps 2000 times each way.
P.S. I take the tube about three times a year, about 12k scooter miles and 10k big bike miles. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4

Can disagree about the road positioning but it was still poor obs. Of course, if you were on your scooter then that completely explains your road positioning.
As to if I ride, the DVLA have my license for safe keeping. |

One thing I do, faster I go more close to the center line I ride, gives me more space for maneuvering = more time to solve stuff. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

Good riding, good swerve, good temper. I would have gone mental at them.
Don't know how people can say poor obs, the car was in view for a second and he successfully avoided them. |
