Tomorrow I'm collecting two CBR250rr's and moving a third, chinky 125. I will need to secure/strap everything down. Where can I buy some cheap straps? and what sort?!?

I would like to do it in one trip, but I know thats not possible with the small, cheap van I have booked Laughing Looking at google images... Im not sure van is long enough for even one bike Shocked VW caddy/Citroen berlingo/Renault kangoo size. Im told Im getting a Caddy but they cant be certain Neutral

Wheelbase of bikes are <1400mm, according to this I have 1700mm to play with.. sounds good but from the pictures, it does not look right Laughing

Im well aware of people moving complete bikes in small hatchback cars... wish I could find a picture.

I also hope it stays dry tomorrow Crying or Very sad

Buy some ratchet straps from wilkinsons, you want the ratchet type rather than the spring with teeth type.

If people have collected them in small Micra sized cars then you can easily fit it in that van. If needs be play lego and dismantle it.

Wheel base is where it touches the ground.
A bike tyre is around 66cm I believe.
So it's 1400+660 = no chance, I'm afraid.
(As there will be a half a wheel either side of the wheel base.)

If there's no bulkhead and you were taking a single bike, you could take the passenger seat(s) out. I've looked into options for this on that size of van before.
If you can get a LWB caddy, you should have a chance.

However, 3 across when two are faired bikes may be pushing it. Have had three thinnish bikes in my vito and it's a squeeze. Three a little fatter bikes in a SWB transit (wider) and again a squeeze.
Appreciated the CBRs are singles so should be pretty narrow, but they look a bit blobbly in the pictures.

I like autolock straps personally (springs with teeth). Cheap ratchet straps often break pretty quickly.

Oh and yes, if you take them apart a good bit, will go in of course - but suspect it'd be better just to get a bigger van Smile.

Take tools, do some disassembly and they'll all go in no bother.
I got a K100RS with full RT fairing in my wee C15 van
but it was a struggle to do it by taking minimal parts off.
I had to turn the passenger seat 180 degrees, a hire company
may get pissy if you do that to their van.

Singles? Shocked quads Laughing but yes, very narrow compared to a 600. 3rd bike is a 125 single.

Happy to take wheels and forks off. Second bike has no forks and will certainly fit. You just reminded me Im going to need tools, got to pick them up tonight!!! Shocked

Hoping no bulkhead, but expect it will have. Im not going to take the seat out but hopefully it will fold fowards enough.

I think Ill try to pick up both 250's and as many boxes of parts as I can, then go back for the rest, and 125 last.

Going to toolstation now for some cheap tie downs Laughing

Oops; missed the two 'R's - was thinking new-shiny boring bikes.
If anything, I'd say a 675 is actually narrower than a CBR250RR. An R6 THAT much wider.

I've never seen a van double-passenger seat fold down without taking it apart.
Also not seen any van seat that goes that far forward and not seen a passenger seat that moves.

Indeed, it looks to be quite an effort to get a KTM a CR125 and a trials bike in a Vito, so I'd forget 2 CBRs and a chinky in such a small van. Laughing

If your really lucky you may be able to fold the seat part of the passenger seat up and the back rest down and fold the bulk head around, gives you a bit more room to maybe get one bike in without taking anything off. My old kangoo used to do this, not entirely sure if the newer models do this though.

In a caddy/berlingo size I'd say you'd struggle. I've had a ccm r30 in a Berlingo, and that fitted okayish, had to let down the tyres and force the forks more than I'd like.

Recently collected a cb250 superdream in a new hire berlingo and it only fit because I folded down the front seat, was quite tight on the height of it as well.

Ok great Laughing went into enterprise to look at van, changed it for a renualt traffic, quite a bit bigger but £43 instead of £25 Sad

Then went to toolstation to buy straps, £17 spent for 4 :O

£50 spent, maybe £10 of fuel for 60 miles... Still £20 cheaper than the local man with van adverts i phoned !

For what its worth i have a new shape Berlingo van.

The 2 front seats DO fold down, but dont move forward.

You would not have got 3 bikes in it. The 250 at a diagonal and the parts squished in around it would probably have worked.
