New bike. 3-3.5k limit. HIT ME

okay so i'm looking into a new bike for my 21st. It will be used for a short commute on every dry day to work and back, also for weekend summer ride outs and le bbq's. Im 6.2 with a damaged wrist so the bike cant be balls deep extreme position. i have been looking at er6f's but im not sure what my other options are. My preference would be a faired bike but saying that i have been looking at z750's.

Any ideas?

If you were out to treat yourself to a nice new bike, don't get a ER6 for those lovely dry days.

What to suggest, there's millions but I love the street triple as mentioned, I'll probably treat myself to one of those when my bank balance shifts to somewhere in the black!

I'd say the ST is comfy for me, but im just shy of 6ft and 13 stone. YMMV though.. I liked the comfortable position but didn't get a chance to ride it

Again comfort, little bit less power than the 1000 but same qualities apply, mass gash.

Found the ER-6F more boring than my SV650! It vibrates like mad, don't like the exhaust, clocks look crap and the screen is horrible.

I had the 2nd gen ER6F and loved it, very nice bike to ride, good bit of power and nice to look at imho.

Other options;

Suzuki GSX650F , I looked at these and belive they are a good bike, similar to the er6f all be it IL4 as oposed to the parrell twin.

Some sort of Honda, cbf or cbr600f.

Yamaha, xj6 or fazer

I would go for a KTM SuperDuke obviously. You should be able to find slightly older one for that price, in great condition.

Looks great, rides great, it's been comfy enough for me on my daily commute and on the weekend rides it's been just as great. I'm sure I'll get another one when I can afford it. Cornering on that bike was surprisingly effortless and fun. To be honest not what I expected when I first looked it. (don't ask why)

I've got a feeling the later ZX6R-F models are actually lower spec than the earlier ones.
ZX6-A similar, but 36 extra cc?
SV1000 may not be too bad on insurance.

If you're not bothered by power and such like, I always fancied a F800S / F800ST for commuting. Good on fuel, should be cheap on insurance and probably won't depreciate as badly as others.
