Hi, I changed my chain and sprocket today(working top notch before)
just did the normal change quick and easy then when i was finished i gave the chain a good spray of gt85 while i had the sprocket cover off

(please bare in mind that their are wires behind the sprocket cover, may have got some gt85 on the connections but gt85 is a water displacer so should not affect wires.)

Then when it was back on the ground and ready to go out, turned the key and nothing no power at all.

I checked the solenoid as I replaced this 2 weeks ago because the old one failed. I don't know how to explain this but this is how I see it

The solenoid has a B and a M( the B connects directly to the battery and M to the wires to everywhere else)

The B is 12.8v as is the battery and the M is 0.00v and all connections are clean and new

Thanks for any help in advance Very Happy

Is the solenoid for the starter motor? If so then when the ignition is on your m connection should show voltage while your pressing the starter button down. Ad nothing when it's not pressed. Also you should be able to hear the solenoid click when you do it.

No power at the key but the battery is showing voltage ? I would check the connections at where ever they go follow your loom double check everything. I'm only on a Honda cg and know that most of the wiring is behind the headlight. Might be similar ? Trace the power supply making sure it goes from your battery to the ignition key. Also have you checked the fuse ?

All the fuses are fine and nearly new and I cant check the connections now but i can in the morning however i don't know how it could be the connections behind the head light are any main connections in fact as all i did was change the chain and sprocket never touched anything else.

If you have 12v at the battery but nothing else then there's a break in a connection or the battery has been drained but normally if that happens you should still be able to bump start it. Not an awful lot to it without doing some tests with a multi meter
