Hi BCF,

1st of all id just like to say I know im walking into the lions den here asking about a 250cc but for my needs a 250cc is ample why I am not looking for a 600cc machine. In fact I'm selling it for a 250cc.

I have narrowed my search to the inazuma or the cbr250 but being 6ft tall am worried about fitting in, or on the Honda.

Has anyone used both or any of the two bikes looking at for a 6ft'r to fit on Smile

Thanks everyone

Probably doesn't help much, but a bloke at work bought an inzuma (inazuma?)

Anwyay, the times ive parked next to it, it looks about the same size as a hornet 600 or similar.

As usual, best advice would be go to a dealer and sit on one.

Good luck!

Yes, buy a 250cc, but not either of those Laughing In my opinion - having not ridden one, only looking at pictures and specs.. they are both 250cc machines made to 125cc quality levels. Jap 125cc quality levels... only a couple steps away from chinese 125 quality.

Im currently rebuilding two CBR250RR's from 1990 and I must say the build quality was amazing. Mine is a project, I knew exactly what condition they were in. 45horses, 113mpg, 19k rpm and very light.

However there is one CBR250RR left on ebay UK and it appears to be in very good condition, for £3000. Someone needs to buy it. Honestly cant believe people are buying the new cbr250r when this is available.

How about the KTM Duke 200/390? I've even had heretical thoughts of swapping my Sprint 1050ST for the 390.. ride like a hooligan and still get 60mpg+?

First off, have you got a load of money you're happy to chuck away for the sake of having

Why limit your self to a particular size?

The obvious choice I normally mention is a GPS500S.

Someone on here was getting c90 economy by riding at C90 speeds.

You can get decent economy from 'normal' speeds too and a lot less depreciation.

Or you could get an SV650, a suspension upgrade and save more money in deprecation than the extra you spend on fuel?
Only use 47hp and the mpg will probably go up on the SV too. Smile

i decided against the inazuma in the end, got the cbr 250 myself, had it for about 6 or 7 weeks, decent on fuel, fairly fast and very comfortable (i came from a cbf125), part of my decision for the cbr was the abs, there are an awful lot more aftermarkets parts for the 250 should you want to customize.

and as for quality, kamdra can speak for himself on this, i am more than happy with the overall quality of the bike, for the price paid (3700)

As a point of note; it's likely about as fast as a NSR125 (de-restricted). Faster than a CBF125, sure. Again, it'll likely depreciate faster than the savings on fuel when compared to said NSR.
HOWEVER, you won't get ABS on the NSR.

Depreciation is not a concern for me, this will likely be my last bike, also 8k service intervals

If depreciation isn't a concern, why IS fuel economy?

They are both the same thing - money.

I have no interest in selling it on at all, in fact depreciation would make my insurance cheaper, lower bike value

On my first ever bcf ride out there was a guy on a cbr250rr and me on my tdr250. We had a race through a tunnel and it was the most orgasmic duet this planet has generated.

Again I'm confused why you're putting forward a benefit of paying a massive lump of money as being that you can save money Confused.

Not sure if this is much help but my father had an inzuma for a few months (traded it for a bigger bike fairly quick) and he is around 5 10, fairly large guy, he had no problem using it and got good mileage per tank out of it

Not sure about the CBR250 but I saw an R last night and had a word with her at the lights and she said she would have gone for the inzuma if it wasn't for the ABS, so really there isn't much in it

Although if it's a means to an end then you may be better on a big scoot as someone above said

As someone who has a stange "thing" for 250`s , I would suggest you have a look at a Hyosung GT 250.
Both the naked and the faired bike are good for what they are.
I have a GT 250r efi and it`s a good little bike.
It`s quick enough for a modern 250 four-stroke and handles fine.

I`m 6`4" and the bike is comfortable for me Thumbs Up

ive owned loads of the late 80s-90s 2 and 4 stroke 250cc bikes (nz learner cc rating)
and ive ridden a couple of the "new" 250 cc twins,
to me the new ones are jus a re-hash of the old kawasaki ex250 suzukis gsx250 yamahas xs250, they wern't inspiring then, they certainly arn't now,

if i was forced into buying a new-ish 250, i'd buy a single cylinder,
and one that doesnt pretend its a sports bike,

that sort of leaves the dirt bikes, or the commuters
and may be the kawasaki z250 (is that available in the uk?? )
ktm duke 200 or 390

if i had my way id buy another cbr250rr with the gear driven cams and the 19k rpm redline or the suzuki rgv250 the goose 350 was awesome too
