Caliper piston installation tips please

Generally thinking,

slightly wet the oil seal with brake fluid and then install,

do the same with the dust seal except with RRG rather than brake fluid,

smear the circumference of the piston in RRG and insert.

Any tips on this?

I've only ever used brake fluid to coat things in prior to reassembly. Not saying that's best practice but not had any problems so far.

Just make sure the piston goes in square, a bit at a time.

I use red rubber grease for both seals and the piston - it won't hurt brake fluid.

Make sure you clean out the grooves that the seals seat in before you refit them. Any oxide here may cause problems refitting the piston. Insert the piston squarely and it should go in with thumb pressure.
