Learn to read map before setting off. Put phone in pocket and enjoy not being bothered by gadget.

I've used a few in my time, tried the cheap options but they just don't cut it. After quite a few different things, I've come to the conclusion that RAM mounts are the way to go.
Its very sturdy, vibrations very low, completely universal, and if you go with the way I did it, waterproof and will hold a variety of items.
See this vid I made to show it.

Also check out the RAM website for different fittings depending on where you want to fit it to your bike. |

A waterproof GPS case with a sponge inside it work just as well as anything.
But you'll do better leaving both gps and phone in your pocket until you've stopped somewhere. Give the road and all the other plonkers on it your 100% focus dude! ____________________ Chase my Witch up, Catch my Snitch up.

I have this on my CBF 125 for the iphone 4s: https://www.ultimate-mobiles.co.uk/Vehicle_Accessories/Motorcycle_Accessories
I did once see it as a bundle but can't be asked to search through and find each part. Basically has a waterproof case which clips onto a handlebar mount. It also has a water proof charging cable.
Works great however I know have a Galaxy S4 so need to buy a new case and charger but the mount should be the same for different cases. I've never had a problem with it falling off or anything and the case does what it says and keeps the water out. I still have access to the hear phone port too which is normally got a rubber plug in it when not in use.
I once got lost soon after passing my CBT about 15 miles away from home and back then didn't have the mount so I just brought up a navigation app and set it up for getting me home then wedged it in between my head and the cheek pad of the helmet so I could easily hear it say "turn left in 100 yards" etc. I also didn't have my ear phones on me so this was the best option at the time. |

I bought one of these:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281171860533
and its been great.
Used it mounted to both the handlebars and the wing mirror stem on my VFR 800.
Stayed nice and waterproof, vibration is acceptable and screen works fine though the plastic.
Used for pleasure and while blood biking and still going strong after 6 months.
Nice cheap solution. |
