Used to know so much about this shit.
My laptop is having serious issues keeping its connection to WIFI. My phone, tablet and ps3 all connect perfectly.
I've tried;
Updating the drivers (Sony VAIO FS Series) and they are up to date
Going into power management and disabling it says to do so it doesn't turn my WIFI card off whenever the power was low, but just got a slider with like 'low power/high usage' or 'high power/low usage' and no disable option
Fucked for what else to do |

Download something called wifi scanner, it will list what channel your wifi operates from, if lots of other routers use the same band then it can cause interference and did with my laptop, I read somewhere you should try and keep about 5/6 bands away from the most used one.
For example mine was on channel 1 along with everything else, so I changed to channel 6 I think and all is well. ____________________ Malaguti F12 Phantom-Dead, Suzuki AY50- Dead, NRG power DD LQ, CBR125.

Nah nothing other than my laptop loses it, and when my laptop does have connection it says the connection strength is excellent.
Will try the WIFI scanner. Also worth noting when I use the standard windows wireless configuration and try to disable my wireless card it states it cannot be disabled as its 'in use from another user' (WIFI has password but im assuming by user it means windows user). If I try to repair the connection it states 'cannot disable wireless card at this time, please check it is installed correctly'.
APE, it disconnects and reconnects on its own most of the time, sometimes I will have to repair the connection but as above states that no longer works and the best I can do is turn the WLAN switch on and off.
Not tried another network yet

Some cards flat-out won't work without their configuration utility. The one in this PC is an example. Install the drivers, it'll find the card, install, no check marks, appear to be working in every way except it either won't connect or randomly drops-out. After half a day of searching I found a link to the config utility and now it works great. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'
