I used to do it with older air cooled Jap stuff with no problems, but not so sure on the painted finish of a Fazer thou engine. I'm wondering if it might just take all the paint off, especially where it's already a little flaky at the front of casings.
Thing is, I ACF'd it for the first time ever this winter, and have let the crud build up; looks like it'll be quite a job to remove it all, especially down pipes etc.

Elbow grease, and soap?
That acf50 is a magnet for crud, but I wouldn't take a steam cleaner to the bike. Pressure washer at a distance for sensitive areas, closer up for hardier grimy areas
