sidi couriers - opinions

Am currently fancying a pair but they seem far too dear. Also, they're pretty stiff. I don't need water proof - particularly - but I do want comfy. And warm in winter.

The couriers seem stiff and uncomfy in the shop. But do they become considerably more supple with a bit of wear? And do the latches fuck up?

They loosen up after a few weeks of use.
They're pretty waterproof (unless you wear them over your trousers during torrential rain...)
The latches seem okay after being used daily for the last 2 years.
As for being warm...a decent pair of socks and thermal insoles do the trick.

Brilliant boots, everyone I know who's had them, liked them.

They are stiff to start with, but they become very comfortable and extremely hard wearing; I've got the similar Trial Zeros (because I'm a tart and I wanted white ones) and they were comfortable enough for me to wear round the MCN show for a couple of hours recently, plus an hour there and back riding.

They are a bit pricey, but they are also quality and that costs. although there's plenty of other stuff that's much dearer and no better made.

AFAIK the catches are replaceable and watch out for the sizing, Sidis tend to come up a bit small and narrow and I've ended up going a full size larger than normal.

I have found that the latches do have a propensity to pop out when I have tried to wear mine with leathers. But I do not possess the thin calves, so try with all your kit. They will 'give' with use. My mint, although now dusty pair, sit in the corner of the room looking cool. I am absolutely certain I will regret that when I crash. Tough as boots. Do seem a bit overpriced at the mo, IMO.

Hmmm - oaky. Might pull the trigger then. Thing is, I keep coming back to the fact that I have a bike in the garage that I enjoy, and which cost me £700. Boots for a third of that? Tough one. I am liking these couriers though.
