Hello all,

I own a Honda CG125 2000.

I'd like to take off the left crank case cover. Can I do so without any oil pissing out? I also noticed a gasket as well. Anything I need to watch out for?

Reason being I need to remove this cover inorder to access my engine-to-frame bolts to tighten top one and replace the lower one as its snapped.
(Previous owner never told me / knew about it)
The lower one is also vibrating and causing annoyance to my ears when riding. Felt like I was raping the engine.

Thought something else was wrong engine wise until I gave it a good looking over and found the cause.

Would give me a good excuse to start painting the engine case to get it cleaner looking!

Would it be advised to replace the engine casing gasket?

yes and watch out for the neutral sw coming out...........is part number 7 the insulated plastic spacer to keep the neutral sw in when the cover is on............green/red wire......

you could always make your own gasket, a biro, some cardboard, a woodwork self centre drill 6mm and some patience.....but dont do it on your mouseman........chipendale.....

Yeah like the guy above said, it is a crushable(not sure on the technical term) gasket, so once crushed in place, it should be changed for a new one.

It's a piece of piss to remove tho and difficult to do any harm so don't worry man Smile

I'd recommend taking a toothbrush to the front sprocket and cleaning all the crap out while its off tho, mine had tons!

Is yours the 2000 W model?
If so gaskets are halfway down the page https://www.wemoto.com/bikes/honda/cg_125_w/98-00/

I was lucky everything was all in place on the alternator/generator had no problems there. Very Happy

I think so, year 2000 and the 1st letter is W lol.

I went screw it, and pulled it off when I came home from work.
Was amazed how clean the generator was.

Cover came off well, gasket tore in one place though, just put it back on and will order a gasket for it now.
When tightening it all up it looked like it had never been removed and "looks ok"

Feels like a different bike. The lower, now missing and replaced from the image, engine bolt was broken and rattling about.
Feels strong and sold now after a quick ride. Will definitely fit a new gasket asap and clean the sprocket side up

Honestly couldn't bear listening to it going and coming from work.
1st gear was a nightmare the vibrations and rattling it was giving off.

Just noticed you have an enclosed chain case, guess that answers if they keep crud off your chain or not!
...may have to order myself one of those
