Hmm not sure if it was worth it, you could do something your self which will be similar and be cheaper most probably.

Anyway regarding seats personally I kinda want one of these for my next bike, king and queen seat.

Yup I'm going to have a dab and get a Kwak GT550 or 750 for my next bike (first big bike). Not sure which to go for at the moment both fit under the A2 license.

Will make it into a project bike as well, there is a chance that the place I'm working at less than a mile away will become permanent.

So king and queen seat, ammo box panniers, bikini (round headlamp fairing), headlight upgrade, swing arm upgrade for future engine upgrade. I've been doing my reading and their are a few different engines that can fit in (after my license has upgraded). Plus adding highway pegs and small ape hangers the same as were on my CG. New paint scheme, also might do something to the body work.

Might not look or sound the best but the last time I had fun apart from at the BBQ last year was on a large bike. So I intend to make the next bike the best I can and have a lot more fun riding.

If you can find one then Corbin seats are a fantastic upgrade. I ended up buying two (damn you, ebay deals). One single seat and a double for touring Laughing

I got the blackbird seat padded out and retrimmed, no gel inserts just softer foam. Got it done at Tony Archers in Huddersfield, what a difference it made!
Before I couldn't do much more than an hour without having to get off but now it's like sitting my sofa.

I bought a secondhand Sargent Cycle seat for my VFR800Fi-Y and it transformed it from being comfy for a couple of hours to being all day comfortable.

I sold it for the same amount after I sold the bike, so it was cheaper than getting the standard one remodelled.

'Just been thinking the same thing, there's a bloke in N London that does similar IIRC................

It cost me £80 to get the seat done and took about 4 days iirc.

I had the rider and pillion seats on my gixer recovered and a gel insert put on the rider seat. Best money spent in a long time! I have a bony arse and it would go numb fairly quickly leaving me to swap cheeks every few miles much to the amusement of anyone following me. Since then my bum is superbly comfortable and I can enjoy my ride more so that was the best Christmas present I ever bought myself! £110 for both seats and gel insert from Viking in Kent. Lee knows what he's doing Thumbs Up

Hi

Had the seat on the Bandit recovered and a gel insert put in (done by P&P Seating in Brum). It is a bit more comfortable and less prone to numb bum although the main reason for doing it was to lower the seat a touch so Charlotte could ride the bike more easily.

All the best

Keith

Completely OT, but I would actually pay cash money to see that thread, especially the highlighted areas of interest.

I got a gel insert in my 690 one and it raised a bit - the original seat is worse than the CCM and the CCM used the seat from a motocross bike! Seemed to make a reasonable bit of difference.

A sheepskin pad also helps and can be got from about £10.

Best bet is to hit more fun roads and move around on the bike Smile.

My Pan has a custom gel seat done by these guys:

https://www.motorbike-seats.co.uk/

It was on when I got the bike so no idea how much it cost. It is great on long journeys though, no numb arse.

Nobody has to be a hard-ass forever.
There's no shame in being comfortable.

The shame is in being ostentatious, rather than comfortable.
i.e., leather tooling, fringe or 24 carat gold edging on your gel* seat would be ostentatious.

*or overt bragging about the finca from whence one's gel was derived Laughing #tongueincheek

Cheers Laughing , I know it might sound over the top but I really like that style and nice to make something your own. It's just deciding which to go for any opinion the 550 or 750 Question

Also I know it might sound long winded and expensive, however I think I can makes something really nice out of it.

'Might have a look for a cheap seat for sale and use that....save going without mine for a bit.

Check with the seat trimmers first that they can't loan you a seat for a few days while they sort yours out. That's what Tony Archers did for me.

A friend had heard about https://viking-motorcycle-seats.co.uk/ and so bought himself a second-hand spare so as to get that one recovered

With a gel insert he said it is far more comfy than before
