Well thats cleared it up for me just watched some knob from East Sussex council explaining about potholes apparently due to the bad weather its just a layer of tarmac that lifts and leaves a small hole, But you'll all be glad to hear that they're perfectly safe and not a danger
and there's me getting all worried for nothing about my front wheel getting swallowed up by something resembling a fecking sinkhole ____________________ Beer, It's the reason I get up every afternoon

All I'll say is 'Haymarket', by Picadilly Circus in London.
It's the bumpy road Jeremy Clarkson was moaning about as he was being rocked up and down on Top Gear a few weeks ago on bicycles.
Absolutely the bumpiest road around town. Well documented on the net too. Needs totally repaving but nothing done for years now. ____________________ Yamaha RXS 100 > Honda CD 250 > Honda Hornet 600 > Honda CBR 600RR > Yamaha RXS 100 > Kawasaki ZX6R J2 > Yamaha FZ1 |

There's a section on the A12 with potholes on a long sweeping bend with a 10 metre section of potholes, all about 4/5 inches deep - just off the centre of the fast lane. Impossible to see in the dark until you're on top of them. Someone WILL die because of those at some point.
I just can't get my head around why the roads in the country are so bad... It's an old observation, but continental Europe's roads are like a fucking race circuit in comparison. ____________________ https://www.youtube.com/DeltaLimaRIDES

Local councils don't repair potholes on A roads or motorways!
Maintenance of trunk roads is contracted out, the contract is awarded to the lowest bidder, draw your own conclusions.
Motorway maintenance is overseen by the Highways Agency then contracted out, Amey Construction seems to have that stitched up!
The only way these contractors can make any money, having won the contracts with the lowest tender, is to do as little as is, legally and contractually, allowable!
There was a R4 program, last week, which highlighted this problem with many councils complaining that due to the current system of contracting out, they have lost the ability to direct the repair and maintenance of the roads to where it is most needed!
The councils are now at the mercy of the few mega contractors running the roads and have, virtually, no say in the programming of work.
You can console yourself, next time you hit a pot hole, with the fact that, that non repaired pothole has hepled boost the profits of one or more plc!
Try to remember, "We're all in it together"! ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |

We had a water meter put in at the end of our drive and the tarmac they put round it all collapsed.
We had to drive round it or risk coming off the bikes it was that bad.

Obviously potholes are not a problem, or someone would be doing something about it, wouldn't they?
MAG? BMF? No? The AA? RAC? Don't care about motorcyclists perhaps. Ok, Councils? All contracted out and no further influence. Government then? Nope, aren't interested in what the electorate think.
See, not an issue.
