Spark plug

Trying to work out whats going on with my bike at the moment as its not running too well in low revs, particularly first gear - valves booked in next week for now.

I just found this picture of my previous spark plugs - does the lack of oil on one of the threads and the burned patch on the side of that plug indicate anything, or is it only really the gapped areas condition that can show problems usually Thinking

the odd one out is from the 1st cylinder [1234 left-to-right] if that could explain where the problem is causing the low end power loss?

The whole idea of the thread is to tighten the plug and not let gases/oil past, so I'd say the left one is the only one sealing as it should be and that the third from the left is the worst of the bunch!

(Edit: the burnt patch looks like rust from where I'm sitting)

Kwaks are infamous for throwing out carb balance and should be done regularly. The amount of oil on those plugs may suggest ring problems but valve clearances are definitely a good thing to get checked if they haven't been done in a while

Edit: But it could just be a leaky head gasket if the plug contacts look good, hard to tell from photo

Its hard to tell at the moment whats going on sound wise as the CCT has been noisy and hasn't adjusted itself yet.

Never had valves done [due 26k miles],and its at 23k now. Its fuel injection - is there anything similar to carb balancing i'd be needing to think about Thinking

Think I took those plugs out about 15k IIRC, might think about pulling the current plugs out this week and having a look at what condition they're in now.

Probably best not to ask for a carb balance in the shop then Laughing

If they're doing the valves then they can attend to the rocker gasket at the same time. I'm not sure what planet I'm on tonight - typos everywhere! NOT head gasket!!!
