.....custom made Hideout two-piece racing suit. I'll have to pay the £900 balance in 6 weeks when I go for my fitting *gulp* I wouldn't mind but I have other gear to buy on top of that!

Would have bought off the peg but nothing really fits right. So I've bitten the bullet and paid premium. I'm sure it will be worth it and as long as I look after it, the gear will last me years.

I'd planned dinner out tonight but I may stay in with some value beans instead Very Happy

I bought some Crowtree leathers a number of years ago. Best £800 I ever spent, although they are getting harder and harder to fit into these days! Wink

WR, they're more expensive than and clothes shopping spree I've been on. But then I hate clothes shopping with a passion. This was exciting and while it was a lot of money, I know its worth it! Some women spend more on a handbag?!

Marjay, I'm hoping it might keep me on the straight and narrow. Is that plate of chips were the cost of refit? Hell no! Very Happy

That's why I'd never buy leathers, they always seem to shrink after a year or 2 Embarassed Whistle

And why the hell not? I've spent close to that to buy Halvarssons textiles from them and they have served me very well over the first year I've spent on the bike.

That being said I visited them today and I'm still umming and arring over their leather jackets. So pretty... but £500+....

Leather is notorious for shrinking over the winter months.

She seemed to know her shit and that's what she advised. Fully racing except I didn't bother with the knee sliders just yet. I'll add those later. The A10 doesn't quite call for that kind of protection!

with regards to the shrinking, it's a common manufacturer* problem

look forward to seeing the outcome!

£1250?!?!? Holy mother of fucking shite. You're insane. Objectively, factually, indubitably.

I just spent £150 less than that on this:

Good move! Supposed to be quality stuff, could save your, er, hide at some point. I quite fancy the Cafe Cruiser jacket for casual rides.

I have though about custom leathers, but have found stuff that fits well off the peg, and by sheer luck ebay.
My dad had a set of two piece leathers made up that lasted him about 20 years and 200k miles. He had a few offs in them and they barely got scuffed. Needed new lining a couple of times. A worthwhile investment imo, but I don't have the upfront cash. Sad

If you are proportioned like me customis the only way unfortunately it is expensive.

Every suit I try is too short, suits get to a point where instead of making them taller they just get fatter. My suit cost £700 to make many years ago.

This annoys me somewhat too. Trying on leather jackets, the arms never get longer, the belly only gets wider. I'm a skinny 6ft2, however my jacket is an XXL. Even that doesn't fit me fully on the arms, but it's close enough that long gloves cover the wrist gap. Alpinestars that is, because RST wasn't even close.

'twas afternoon, the only other people in the store at the time were a couple on a Ducati Multistrada, a woman with dark hair and yours truly - a shifty looking foreigner type. Oh and a guy came in later with his daughter.
