.....custom made Hideout two-piece racing suit. I'll have to pay the £900 balance in 6 weeks when I go for my fitting *gulp* I wouldn't mind but I have other gear to buy on top of that!

Would have bought off the peg but nothing really fits right. So I've bitten the bullet and paid premium. I'm sure it will be worth it and as long as I look after it, the gear will last me years.

I'd planned dinner out tonight but I may stay in with some value beans instead

I bought some Crowtree leathers a number of years ago. Best £800 I ever spent, although they are getting harder and harder to fit into these days!

And why the hell not? I've spent close to that to buy Halvarssons textiles from them and they have served me very well over the first year I've spent on the bike.

That being said I visited them today and I'm still umming and arring over their leather jackets. So pretty... but £500+....

I have though about custom leathers, but have found stuff that fits well off the peg, and by sheer luck ebay.
My dad had a set of two piece leathers made up that lasted him about 20 years and 200k miles. He had a few offs in them and they barely got scuffed. Needed new lining a couple of times. A worthwhile investment imo, but I don't have the upfront cash.

If you are proportioned like me customis the only way unfortunately it is expensive.

Every suit I try is too short, suits get to a point where instead of making them taller they just get fatter. My suit cost £700 to make many years ago.
