Hi
i have a Yamaha sr 125
i Haven't started it since July, so 7 months .
im having problems starting it. I can start it with the choke ,but it has no power and will cut out in 1-5 seconds .
the oil was out, so fill it up with fresh oil .
i have tried rolling starting it but still has no power and cuts out after about 5 seconds .

Drain carb and fresh fuel.

My Carbed SV used to do this, sputtered and cut out a little when getting it out after winter until the fresh fuel ran through. When you have it running, give it a ride to clear out the cobwebs. Thumbs Up

Is it easy to drain the carb. I've just had a little look in the Haynes manual. Will try it tomorrow. Also do I need to drain the little bit of petrol left in there before I add new stuff

Yes and yes

Take the Carb off and clean it with a bit of petrol then put it back together, empty the tank, new fuel in then run it

Will struggle to start at first till the fuel gets through the system. Then give it a good run once it's started

Try the air/fuel mixture on the carb. Played around with mine after months of storage and worked for me. Not sure where they are on your bike but usually located at the bottom of the carb and on the side.

Check this link out https://hondacg125.awardspace.com/idle_screws.htm helped me get my carb sorted, might not be the answer to your problem though but worth a try.

Edit: I know it's not the same carb as your bike, but i'm sure you get the idea from seeing the link.
