Usually I love these kinds of videos but I have to be honest, that one scared the crap out of me. There were so many poor judgements being made. In terms of bike control/skill I couldn't really tell if they were skilful or just lucky (I was leaning towards lucky), but their decision making was ridiculous.

Just one example, shortly after this link starts they use the hard shoulder at an indicated 160-ish mph - about 50-100m further down the hard shoulder is a cyclist, who you can see at around 1:18. If that cyclist had been 100m further back there is no way in hell they would have seen him/her before they committed to that line.

Hate to be a killjoy but that's too much for me.

Edit - also this bit would have been enough for me to pack up and go home. If you're going to be doing these speeds on the road you need to be able to trust the people around you not to cut you up.

Christ the amount of time they spent hanging off the side of the bike, while on a white line or hard shoulder really made my bum twitch. The amount of loose gravel I've seen in hard shoulders would put me right off, even if I was some pro daredevil.

Is it worth mentioning that the loon on the honda was only wearing jeans and trainers?

Risk compensation, bruv, that's the only reason he didn't wipe out.

Not sure how much gear would help if you came off at those speeds. Moving so fast at one point I was almost startled by the red car which I didn't see him approaching.

That's to much hope and hold on for me! The amount of debris from old truck tires on the hard shoulder alone is to much for riding like that...let alone doing it in traffic ....I mean really that's not on in my book ......on a lighter note....that bike looks like it's restricted Wink

Meanwhile the best me and Tatters managed was 175mph, for around 30 seconds until we ran out of road.

Watching videos like that now makes wince.

The BMW seems to go faster than 186mph anyway, I'm certain I heard him roll off the throttle slightly a few times and the speedo stay firmly fixed at 299kph.

Awesome vid, but aren't they risking a knock on the door from the boys in blue by posting it online?

Bring what on? 6 months of using buses to get around while you watch others out on their bikes enjoying themselves. Or perhaps 6 months of lying in a hospital bed growing most of your skin back? If those are the only two options you're giving yourself I'd suggest staying with the L plates. Rolling Eyes

Leant over like that with the throttle pinned hitting that white line/catseye on the side of the road is a one way ticket to a mahoosive tank slapper...

That really did make me skittish
