I got flashed last night by this fĂșcker
https://www.saferroads.org/docs/enf/img/cam_lg/933.jpg
As you can see it crosses the lights. I was coming up to the lights at 40 and just as I come upon them the ligths go amber I thought I am not sharply braking on this road as it was gritty and the brakes are a bit busted at the mo. So as every other person in the world when you are coming to a traffic light and it goes amber and you don't have time to stop you speed up a bit, but I got flashed where do I stand or should I try the prove that the cĂșntso wasn't calibrated etc etc. |

Hi
Legally there is very little on the positioning of these cameras. There are guidelines which the thieves who run them are perfectly at liberty to ignore (and regularly do).
It is also an offence to go over the lights on yellow, with a defence if you could not safely stop in time (so they could quite happily set up the traffic light cameras to catch people crossing on yellow, safe in the knowledge that plenty would not contest it).
So, looks like you might well have been conned by the local scumera partnership (motto "Profit before safety").
All the best

It's not a crossing its a T junction and the crossing is further up the road.
Bendy will know the area as she told me about the route to go home, I blame her |

Don't contest anything in any form with this one!
If you contest the positioning, they'll do you for admitting to running the lights and quite possibly the speed camera offense as well!
Also, They might consider you to be 'driving without due care and attention' due to not backing off slightly for the light in the first instance or even 'driving dangerously' for two reasons, 1) the brake problem, which I assume you wouldn't mention, and 2) the fact you sped up for the traffic signals which were changing to red!
As for contesting the speed camera calibration, I think this only applies to hand held devices, not permanently mounted camera's!? They might also ask to see you bike to calibrate that, and should anything be wrong with you, you'll incur charges there as well.
also, if you lose any contesting mentioned above, you will probably end up with a large bill for admin/court charges and Police time.
I'm not having a go at anyone here, not at all, just offering advice on the way the fuzz seem to view things in relation to motorcycles. I think they guidlines might depict us as the enemy!
Anyway, least damaging thing to do is to accept the charge! ____________________ TL1000R Parts For Sale! |
