Maybe next time she'll look where she's bloody well going, instead of running out blindly into traffic. And she had the fucking cheek to question his speed?! I'd have run her over again just to make sure she learned her lesson properly Neutral

Getting increasingly annoyed with pedestrians atm, especially in super markets just waltzing down the road without a care in the world.

Regardless of age, woman was a tard

Very little sympathy for people who get run over because they didn't look.

Or ones that have headphones on yet don't bother to use the only remaining useful sense they have... you wouldn't see a blind person walking across the road without listening for traffic, or a deaf person walking around with a blindfold on playing chicken.

(Deaf & blind people, I don't know how you do it)

Sorry, filtering too fast at that point, junction, plus you can see her making her way or intending to cross, eyes drawn to the van in the side road easily see her head in peripheral.

why hit her though?
rider could have stopped easily and just used horn/engine noise to scare her back to the pavement

Piss poor obs - granted old girl should have been paying more attention but frankly how much attention was the rider paying? Singing his little song as he went along! Would he have noticed a car changing lanes or u-turning in front of him, then he's whining about a SMIDSY. Double standards much.

I disagree. The camera is mounted on top of the helmet, so because the viewer can see the woman above the cars, the ped rider can't.
If you look at where the top of the helemt actually is, it's pretty much in line with the car roofs, so the rider had little (if any) chance of seeing the woman until she ran out in front.

Surely even more reason for the rider to be more cautious? This must be as clear cut 50/50 as they come.

This was discussed on NWB, where the granny killer posted his video.

remember the camera is about 6 inches higher than the rider's eyes so viewing angle would be lower than what we see from the video.
there is no way he would have seen that woman apart from a brief flash of white when he was next to the black peugeot just before the junction.

The dozy bint ran out into traffic without looking, not once did she look to her left.
At the point where she did step in to the road she was obscured by the silver car (micra?)
She didnt even look at what hit her....

How on earth can it be 50/50

the pedestrian was in the road crossing between traffic???

on reflection yes the riders view is lower than the camera so I can see why he wouldn't have seen her before he chucked her dirty scummy road crossing arse on the deck!

Why can't pedestrians take responsibility for themselves? Or a bit of caution...

If (example) I was wiring a socket in a house, I'd turn the electric off, same way I look when I cross the road Rolling Eyes

As I said to the instructor on the speed awareness course, you're trying to cure a problem (make people slow down) when you could prevent it by sending these retards who don't look to a course.

Pedestrians fault, clearly.

Her comment about "could you go any faster?" and the fact that she pretty much ran off afterwards shows that she knew it and felt a bit of a tit about it.

Hit and Walk!

Twice he could have run her down, the second time to accost her for failing to stop at the scene.
But no, he whistles Dixie.

And she's not talking bollocks with her sage enquiry "couldn't you go any faster?"
Proving nicely that going at more or less the correct speed can be greatly more injurious than going balls out; had he just previously put on a spurt the two of them would never have met in the first place.
Cause and Effect
wherefore swings and roundabouts come into play.
Knock an old lady down with potential for shit hitting the fan but turns out that both parties are seriously nonchalant about it
or
miss each other by a second or six but two-hundred yards up the road getting slammed into by a 7 ton lorry.
Always expect the unexpected
and there's nowt more unexpected than every moment's date with fate, with you twisted around its little finger.
Destined then either to question one's every move or to count one's blessings, safe in the belief that the universe knows what its doing.
The choice is yours.

Except that it isn't.

Verdict:
At one and the same time
neither/both at fault.

tl;dr
Definitely her fault!
