 |

Like many, if I got that all-elusive lottery win, there'd be many bikes in the ol' dream garage, some common enough, others a little more obscure.
One that seems to have fallen pretty much off the radar is the Laverda Montjuic 500.

I read about these in an issue of Bike magazine back in 1980 (and got to see regularly close up as a Saturday lad in a bike shop) but all I remember is that they seemed to like it - bit frantic perhaps, but handled nicely, sounded good, and was fun to ride. I remember they also updated the bodywork a bit a year or two on from it's release - and that's where my knowledge runs out.
Anybody ever owned/tried/considered one? Know what they're really like? Have they all rotted away to dust?
(Edited cos I'm a blind idiot )

Not a case of memory fade (though it wouldn't have surprised me in my case) but apparently complete blindness - didn't see that thread
Thanks for pointing it out though
So have edited my post to keep it more specific:
So question still stands - Laverda Montjuic? |

Reliability problems in racing, or just generally OGR?
I've always thought they were pretty in that orange, and I think that Bike article reported them as a bit of a hooligan bike - just the kind of thing that impressed me in those days. (oh look, no change there then ) |

Great bike to ride but very Loud

I borrowed an Egli 500 for a few days once but it was so long ago that all I remember was the fact it was green ____________________ Space Is Deep |
