Theory test questions

Hello.

Going for the theory test soon and been using one of the ipad apps to test myself.

After 15 years of car driving I know precisely, dick.

So studied the highway code cover to cover over the last 2 days and repeated the mock test questions.

All kinds of questions are popping up that are not mentioned anywhere in the highway code...

What problems would you get leaving the choke on your bike active
You need to top up your battery, so which level do you fill with water

etc.

Where do I find out all this kind of stuff. Pretty much aceing the normal road craft stuff, signs, what ifs, first aid etc just these ones are all new to me.

If you cannot find the answers in the highway code then the best advice is to use the "safest" option.

You'll get a question like.

What would you do if a lorry was turning left in front of you and it had moved over to the right?

A. Overtake on the outside
B. Overtake on the inside
C. hold back and give the lorry plenty of room
D. Pull a wheely, flash your bollocks and wave

Always go for the safest seeming answer if you are in doubt so in this case it would obviously be D! Flash your bollocks.

The DSA pass your theory test book has all the answers to all the questions.

The way I passed both my theory tests was to illegally download buy one of those "pass your test" things for PC. The mock tests are the exact same questions and format as the actual test and the hazard perception practise is worth doing.

I got it right in the mock test by guessing but thats not ideal - plus theres other ones in there involving bike chokes and other stuff I've not encountered before. The instructor said everything is in the highway code book which is plainly bollocks as I've shown

Was just wondering where the fountain of all knowledge is so Im best prepared ... rather than sit and blindly go through the 900 questions in the bank on the ipad getting some wrong and trying to remember the right answer lol

Don't look for any sense in it, it's a ridiculous test, particularly for bikes.

I was shown a tram sign and asked to identify the hazards posed to two wheeled vehicles by tram tracks the environmental benefits of that vehicle.

Must... not... rage quit.

You are sadly going to have to game your way through it by just rote-learning the bollocks in the practice tests.

Oh, and definitely learn how to play Hazard Perception Random Clickfest. You'll very likely click well before the arbitrary scoring zones.

Yeah Ive just been told to wait a second before clicking when I see something amiss or it might not recognise it.

The ipad app doesnt tell you much on what to do, I was tapping the screen where things were happening.

The question is trying to tell if you have any basic vehicle maintenance knowledge about the vehicle!

Remember heat make things expand i.e. water will heat up while the battery is being recharged, and therefore you CANNOT fill the battery fluid to the brim!

I've found when looking through the questions for my lad if it's a tad confusing go for the common sense (or safest, as said above) option.

However, looking at some of his guesses I think common sense is in decline with the youth.

I downloaded the official theory test app on my iPhone and just spent a couple of days practising for ten minutes or so.

Keep doing mock tests and practising ones that you get wrong. If you spend enough time with the app then you will be confident that you can answer any question on test day correctly.

Thats what Ive been doing the last few days fella - Ive now been through the entire question bank so repeating bits plus Ive screen captured questions I wasnt sure / got wrong to go over myself before test

That was the best way for me to do it. I got them all correct with that technique. Although my bazaars perception side was a quick practice on some free online jobbies the day before. Still scraped through that part okay though.
