Dave Bliss Motorcycles.
I advise all to not go there.
Unfriendly bad service is manageable but a crap bike from a dealer is not.
It's a Honda Bros

also bought a dud bros from a dodgy dealer
althought nothing that.....terminal, its not the kinda thing you would check on your average looking over the bike pre purchase really, but its pretty low
how do output shaft splines get fucked exactly?
[edit] just had a thought, seems like a perfect excuse to drop an africa twin engine in there mate ____________________ So in other words, he stopped you for being flagrantly in posession of a motorcycle in direct contravention of the Hippies, Darkies and People Whose Face I Don't Like The Look of (Police Powers) Act. 1976 |

I think I'll just try and recoup my losses and sell it back to him.
Like the idea of the africa twin but the workshop forum might get a tad overloaded. I think a bicycle till I get the funds for the CBR.
Jan
He sold it for 700 reckon I could sell it back for 200? ____________________ Enjoy Life There's Plenty of Time to be Dead

Yeah it's got life left in it but I can't adjust the chain because it appears to have seized/ the spanner doesn't fit cos the teeth have been worn down on the adjuster.
Cheers all, helped me alot.

never adjusted the chain once on the bros, the hub was also worn on mine, and i couldnt get a socket on the pinch bolt cos all my tools were too big
so i just dismissed it, as it was being difficult it obviously didnt want me to adjust its chain
dont reckon it suffered any adverse affects, its not as if the performance of a bros wrenches on the chain enough for you to notice that its really slack, i was never fussed anyway
you could probly adjust it using a copper drift pin and hammer, if you can find the right kind of size, or just grind it down to size, the idea being copper being softer than the hub material, with damage the drift pin rather than the hub ____________________ So in other words, he stopped you for being flagrantly in posession of a motorcycle in direct contravention of the Hippies, Darkies and People Whose Face I Don't Like The Look of (Police Powers) Act. 1976 |

The sprocket looks OK for the moment. If you are keeping the bike, I would wait until it is worn out then grind the weld off and weld a new one on. You can probably do this indefinatley. It ain't pretty, but it is functional. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

Cheers for that, I'll get round to that once I've got the CBR for a winter hack.
Well went out today and bought a bicycle for 50 quid. Get healthy and get there quick. Now I can be the irritating bicyclist everyone bitches about, can't wait .
