It was purely nerves. My hands appeared to have been abducted by aliens and replaced with 2 bunches of bananas that couldn't coordinate clutch and throttle. I suddenly became unable to pull away smoothly, and if I sent a video of my hill start to You've Been Framed, they'd probably pay me double.

I've not had these problems at all during training. On the plus side, I had no faults other than 3 million moving off ones and he said I dealt exceptionally well when a lorry careered onto a roundabout and nearly took me out broadside.

Am gutted. I can do it. I just can't show that to the examiner.

I was lucky and passed first time, but I was a complete bag of nerves too, but as soon as I put my helmet on and got on the bike, I felt much calmer.

Were you riding the bike you usually ride or another bike?

Now you know what they want you'll be calmer next time.

It's all just a ride out.

Sad

Keep at it - don't let those nerves get to you again. You did MOD1 - that's the hard one..

Deep breaths and book it again...

Don't worry! Book up another as soon as possible. You know what to expect so it won't be a complete surprise next time round. I took two attempts due to nerves and I felt a lot more confident the second time around.

You can do it!

Next time, unzip your jacket sloooowly.

Offer to zip it up again if he passes you.

Unlucky.

I was like that, until I got onto the bike.

It's literally just a normal ride, where you have to ride where you are told, you'll have to convince yourself this!!

Good luck on number 2

Thumbs Up

you will get there buddy, it is the old cliché but it really is just another ride, and remember the examiners are a lot more friendly than the car examiners. they are bikers to and want more safe bikers on the road as well. just book it up and go again!

Thanks everyone, I have booked another one for 23rd May at 08:10. Rush hour, but it can't be any worse than yesterday, when there were roadworks, closed roads, idiots reversing up one way streets and rogue lorries careering onto roundybouts....

Hokum, it's a school bike as it's DAS.

Rogerborg, am so traumatised I can't tell if you are insulting me or not. Are you going to make it to the BBQ this year? I think you should.

La, I speak toothpicks, not poniards. A tickle, not a stab.

Rush hour sounds ideal, lots of sitting in queues. Better yet if you can lose the examiner.

I failed my mod 2 on a damn silly error, it's the done thing. "I'm pleased to tell you..." makes it all worthwhile.

now you know the route for the MOD 2 test where you are, maybe go out and ride the route on your own a few more times ? just so you feel more at ease and then when you retake the test hopefully your nerves wont be so bad

Thanks, but I can't ride the route on my own until I've passed mod 2. I only have an 650 and I's not allowed.. Crying or Very sad

There's several different routes they'd use. The chances are that the op won't go down the same route on their resit.

Good luck on the 23rd and as Roger said, rush hour sounds ideal. More waiting and less riding Smile

Not always, the town I did mine in had 20 set routes for car test and only 2 set routes for the bike test

And the only difference was missing a main road. Even if they use multiple routes they probably won't vary a huge amount, spending time around the area will help

Not that it matters cus the op can't do it anyway
