FFS, have you learned nothing?
If a GPS tracking device has to be fitted to your vehicle you will have to pay for it, not the gummerment!
No device = no type approval or no Mot or no insurance = no transport = game over!
Mind you, most of you can be tracked via your phones and dashcams anyway! ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |

successive changes have reduced tax for more fuel efficient vehicles, this is a good thing as it's encouraged people to consider engine / vehicle size when buying a new car, smaller more efficient vehicles also cause a bit less pollution than a larger vehicle.
This obviously reduces the revenue to the government in VED (''road tax'' goes straight to the government, your local roads are funded through your council tax)
Some people get free VED, electric / hybrid cars for example
sooner or later, to stop the deficit in VED a flat rate needs to be introduced, for example, £20 a year for the ability to drive a motorised vehicle on the public road + an emissions fee - this would put my £30 a year 1.2 diesel ibiza at £50 a year, encouraging me to, when I come to replace it, choose a small economical car if I can.
or have I missed something here?
If labour push this one through I'm quitting work, claiming the dole and buying a V12 jag and to the system
doesn't help that they're discouraging smoking, how much revenue do they get from fags sold each year? ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

Just a thought,
My wife is a community nurse using her car to get to and from appointments in health centres and people's homes so drives during the day as part of her job
Under these plans will she be claiming the 'pay as you go' fee back along with the fuel (as current) or will she just have to foot the bill out of her wage?
If the plan is to introduce this, they're essentially proposing to tax us for going to work if they charge more for driving at busy periods... ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

Youth Jobs Guarantee – £1.04 billion
Reversing the VAT increase - £12.75 billion
More capital spending - £5.8 billion
Reversing the Child Benefit savings - £3.1 billion
Reversing Tax Credit savings - £5.8 billion
More Regional Growth Fund funding - £200 million
Cutting the deficit - ?
Turning empty shops into community centres - £5 million
Spending on public services - ?
More housing - £1.2 billion
Childcare - £800 million
…giving a total of at least £30.695 billion (not including the uncostable commitments to reduce the deficit and more spending on public services).
This is more than ten times the £2.3 billion that was raised by Labour’s bonus tax – that their own Chancellor, Alistair Darling, said could only be a ‘one-off’ – and more than ten times the £2.5 billion that the Government’s permanent bank levy raises every year.
It’s simply not credible for Labour to try and spend the same pot of money more than ten times over on eleven different things.
All Ed Miliband and Ed Balls offer is the same old Labour policy of more spending, more borrowing and more debt. And it’s hardworking people who would pay the price through higher mortgage rates and higher taxes.

I make a decent living. Mrs Borg makes cakes and babbys.
Her Zafira is registered to me. She usually fills it up.
How much pay?
Eh, it's fantasy. The thought of a government contractor successfully implementing a system to track and correctly stitch up north of 34.5 million vehicles is just risible. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
