 |
|
I'm not sure what to do in this case, I've got all the details of the driver, very apologetic obviously. The bike had never been dropped before this and have pics of it's great condition. I parked when the area was clear she tried squeezing into the gap after the first car got there. She reversed into it and the side stand got caught under the bumper, something snapped off from the car and wedged it self in the exhaust system. Damage from what I've noticed so far includes
-Scratched up exhaust
-Coolant from reservoir under the seat (the lid popped off)
-Ignition barrel which still working seems a little looser than usual
-Side stand feels a little off but more or less normal now didn't inspect properly yet but still kills the engine if down while in gear (got sandwiched under the cars bumper)
-Damaged U lock key mechanism on the U lock I use for the rear wheel (pricey one kryptonite fahgettaboudit)
I just spend over 4 grand on this thing 2-3 months ago

Ouch, it's a shame the bike wasn't in some kind of hi vis paint scheme....
If it was me I would report it to my insurance and let them process the claim. You may think you've spotted all the damage but you never know if something has twisted. |

Get details of woman? Call and ask her insurance details, I'd be doing that through insurance straight away.
They'll cat C or D that due to the exhaust damage |

How can it go wrong
You place your cards on the table.
Empty space, so you parked.
Woman driver reverses in and knocks bike over.
Here are details of woman driver.
I have photos showing my bike knocked over, essentially under the car.
They will need to pursue the woman so I hope you checked all details are legit. |

MT09 you mean.
I'm going to set fire to every MT07 I find, pieces of shit.
But no, definitely bug the insurance at 9am. Hassle them, make sure you have commuting insurance and that its kept on the road during the day |

Explain again why you hate them so much? Think for the money they're good value, and they're selling well. |
If I wanted a basic bike, I'd buy a basic bike.
However, if you come from anything thats remotely decent, ala Hornet, why downgrade.
I'd never advise going to a parallel twin, they really make me want to chop my cock off. I'd rather fuck a tramp than have a parallel twin.
Why settle for less when you can have more, higher tax bracket for no reason yo
For the money you can get an older CBR600F and an enduro bike, both equally more fun. Why have a slow boring vehicle that depreciates. Its like buying a fucking Kia Picanto.
Simply put, a 2/3 year old Triumph is the best option for someone not wanting a litre bike but wants to upgrade from their 600, however buying new, the MT09 would be top of the list for triple status.
tl;dr arrogant bastard who hates parallel twins |

For example, you can only park a bike in Hackney at the end of a bay, perpendicular to the pavement. But it can be almost any bay, including residential etc.
Generally it's better to park in a m/c bay if you can find one though, or on pavement skylights. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4
