Just had a text from a mate of mine who works for the Police in south wales.
The sun is out today and it is going to be warm, Monmouthshire police are having some sort of "crack down on speeding bikers" today.

They did this a few weeks ago, they were everywhere also with random checkpoint stops. I got tugged and fined for my lack of tax disc and a rectification notice for my cans.

Just out of interest - what happens if you get caught with a sports exhaust again now?

They get removed at the side of the road, then sold at auction with proceeds going to victims of crime.

Have to take it to an approved garage and get a letter saying these exhausts no longer kill kittens.

The victim surcharge doesn't go to victims of crime, it goes to towards "services for victims" which means part of it is kept by the police force who caught the 'criminal'.

What Fisty said, I got pulled with an excessively loud exhaust on the Isle of Wight. Had to take to an MOT place with the stock one fitted, then removed once home. Laughing

Roadside test, you say? Defer, cite RTA 1988 Section 67(6).

Exhaust too loud? In their opinion. Go on, live a little, tear up the rectification notice and say you'll await the summons. I'm sure the CPS (or Fiscal) will just fall over themselves to take that one on. Wink

I wonder if they actually call it Operation Buzzkill? Thinking

Is the roadside seizure of the exhaust if you get caught with one within 12 months of the rectification notice?
