Brake Light Does Not Come On When Front Brake is Activated

Hello,

I just bought a 2007 Suzuki GS500. When i apply the rear brake, the brake light comes on. However, when i apply the front brake, the brake light does not come on.

Any suggestions as to why this may occur?

just had exactly the same happen to me on me 796 (Tuesday)
was the switch on the brake lever needed freein up wit some silicone spray & greased up

As above.
Check micro switch on brake lever.
If disconnect wires you can short to test light comes on.
That would eliminate any breaks in the loom.
Replacement switch if required can be had from the likes of WeMoto or eBay.

Which switch on the brake lever are you talking about? I'm completely new to bikes.
