£19 for a unusable front sprocket from Motorbike Breakers Bridgend, how do they get away with that crap.

Why? It's free market, if there is a stupid person that'd pay the money, then I say let it happen. We could say the same thing about art. Thumbs Up

They can try and sell it at that price if they want, good luck to them.

Why should eBay ban someone who has listed items at prices that you don't like? Rolling Eyes People need to protect themselves from their own stupidity rather than expecting others to do so for them.

Few years ago now, I sold an empty beer can on eBay for more than it cost to buy full. They paid, I delivered the empty can, everyone was happy. Mr. Green

Read the description.

Basically, they are breaking a CG and have loads of parts from it.

As such, they put a random bit on there, which will not sell ( minimal insertion fees) but advertises the rest of the bits whilst there effectively for free, or at least a very low cost.

Same as the ones who advertise a wheel nut for £100 for a car, then go on to say contact seller for other parts that are available.

Clever way to draw you in to the advert and if someone is stupid enough to buy the advertised part at the ridiculous price, they make a killing on something which is effectively worthless.

IIRC you're not allowed to 'break' vehicles on eBay - so doing this side-steps the rule. As dolly3900 says, it's clearly just a vehicle for inviting people to call up about other spares.

Not so long ago (the other week) Spares Unlimited in Hull (they're also on eBay) would sell a rear disc for a Varadero 125 quite happily.

Only when I asked if it was straight and suitable for MOT did they admit it'd gone beyond the wear limit, so would be MOT fail.

The eBay listing of the part didn't mention this (imho) quite important point.

Years ago I used to advertise all the stuff screwfix had on sale or clearance.

half price, spanners, dewalt drills etc etc I used to slap on 14% for ebay + paypal fees, then £5-10 for me and they would sell fairly well believe it or not.

how on earth did an empty beer can sell though?

And what possessed you to put it on ebay haha
