Hi, Im a girl and am having trouble with my bike!!! The bike is over run, in that, when you shut off the throttle the engine keeps revving!!!
Is this to do with the mixture screw, or air getting into the carb?
What do you reckon?
Any advice gratefully received

Can you post a video?

Seen it before with these bikes where the throttle slider has been put back on the wrong way round

Check for air leaks between the carb and the cylinder head, it is not uncommon for the manifold/heatshield to crack or work loose.

The test I used to use for extra air being sucked in to the carb/inlet manifold is to let the bike idle & spray a little bit of WD40 on the rubber tubing

If the engine revs up when you do this it's sucking in air there. Then you just need to check the condition of the rubber & the tightness of the jubilee clips etc..

The cg 125 tends to have a solid plastic inlet manifold which can crack due to expansion /overtightening or age, this manifold is simply slipped over the 6mm carb mounting studs which can also work loose. I agree with the WD40 on the rubber inlet manifolds, works a treat.

Sticking accelerator cable?, frayed a touch maybe.

If you had the throttle cable off slide in wrong way around

If the slide is sitting properly and returning as it should it will be an air leak
What have you had apart??
