So the exhaust on my YBR sounds dreadful... and I've possibly found out why!

What are my options? Is gun-gum putty or the repair bandage any good as a stop-gap?

Should I bung some cash at a garage to get it welded up?

Where's good for a replacement? (2007 year)

Its due its mot in a couple of weeks (typical) so I guess I'll need a new one sooner rather than later...? Just thinking about a temporary repair as its still in daily use.

Looks like its pretty much about to snap in half. You can TRY to gun-gum + bandage but - it will look shite and wont last all that long looking at that hole!

Welding there is little point as it rotted to hell and the metal near the weld will likely go shortly after.

Pattern part, or half decent 2nd hand will be a good option.

Little point in aftermarket performance systems unless there entirely stainless steel and your just buying so it doesnt rust again....

Yeah, saw that...

And just bought it Razz

Let's hope I can get round to doing bigbiketests before it falls apart!

I take it a new gasket and probably new bolts and its a straight swap? Its the original one that's bust... 7 years/25k miles... can't complain I suppose

Thanks for the find,

Look closely at the joint, it's rusty as fuck under there you can see someone has just lashed a coat or two of VHT paint on to make it look tidy.

Better than what you've got.

Start getting penetrating oil on the studs ASAP.

Bean tin bodge until it arrives, bit of gun gum or silicone sealant (yes, the cheap stuff from Tesco), couple of jubilee clips or just twist-tightened wire as recommended by Che Guevara.
