Hello All,

I have been looking at past posts on this forum about none starting bikes and this post in particular https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=3865459

I bought the bike June 2012 and used it over the summer, tightening nuts and bolts as I went, then remembered lock nut! ha

I parked the bike up and it was in full running order and it sat outside during the winter covered up and not touched till the summer. It started 1st time and did a service on it.

Winter came and same again parked up in full running order then
I come to move house it would just not start and I have just left it till now.

Just did a service on it.

It turns over on the starter.

There is a spark.

There is compression.

Checked all the electric connections

Also after reading other posts read about the fuel. I took the fuel tank off and it was full of crap. Drained and flushed out with new fuel and thought.... right here we go it's going to start..... Still no start. Thumbs Down

If anyone can advise it would be much appreciated.

I am thinking maybe the fuel is not getting to the engine?

Maybe the carb is full of crap based on what was in the fuel tank?

How is the fuel pumped on these engines? How can I that fuel is being pumped?

Or should I be looking elsewhere?

Thanks,
Rick

Pretty sure the carbs are gravity fed, meaning no pump it just sucks it through.

Tank back off, airbox off take carb out and strip and clean it.
Should be good to go

Yup, get the carb off and clean it out thoroughly. Idle jets are particularly clone to clogging up. Also, I'd stick an inline filter in the fuel line to help prevent future issues.

Thanks for the replies! Smile

Will give that a go, looked in the manual section but the links for Chinese engine of this type don't work.

Anyone know where I can find one for this carb/engine? Or are they easy enough? Think the engine is a 156FMI Balanced Shaft Engine ?

Thanks,

So I took the carb off and stripped it, it was blocked I could not blow in to the fuel inlet and scummy orange stuff inside. Cleaned it and put the bike back together.

Still won't start.

Any other ideas? Thanks so far.

How did you clean out the idle jet? They're tiny, any blockage is going to cause trouble.
